New Hamburg, ON: Since its initial start in 1994, The Erb Group has hosted an annual charity golf tournament, which has contributed over $550,000 to local not-for-profit organizations. Over the past 30 years, the company has been overjoyed to be able to provide over half a million dollars to charities in need. All 152 golfers were practicing their swings as they powered up for a passionate day of golfing and giving back to the community at the Rebel Creek Golf Club in Petersburg, Ontario, on September 16^th. This year, the highly anticipated event raised a new record of $30,000. The money fundraised will be divided amongst local charities, Wilmot Family Resource Centre, Interfaith Counselling Centre, and Aldaview Services. Wendell Erb, CEO and President of The Erb Group says, “This is our biggest fundraising event every year, and we always raise over $20,000 for our partnered charities. To hit over half a million raised since the tournament started is a fantastic feeling.” Harpreet Dhaliwal, Client Care Coordinator at Wilmot Family Resource Centre, said, “We are grateful for the ongoing support from The Erb Group and their Annual Charity Golf Tournament. Our vision is to build strong and healthy communities where everyone is accepted and has the opportunity to participate and grow. The money raised helps us provide unique services to local families with individual needs, including basic necessities like food, clothing, housing, safety, mental health support or a sense of belonging. Without your help, we wouldn’t be able to offer the level of support that we do.” In June, The Erb Group was also recognized for its commitment to going above and beyond through its philanthropy efforts with a Purpose Award provided by the Transportation Marketing and Sales Association (TMSA). The award honours companies that surpass the expectations of their regular duties and go the extra mile to give back to their communities.
