FR The Erb Group Celebrates a Decade of Excellence as a Top Fleet Employer and Earns Prestigious HR Leader of the Year Award
Toronto, ON, October 12, 2023 – During the 10th annual Top Fleet Employer's Gala in Toronto, The Erb Group, a recognized leader in the trucking industry, was presented with the distinguished recognition of being a Top Fleet Employer for the 10th consecutive year by Trucking HR Canada. In addition to this significant accomplishment, Trucking HR Canada acknowledged The Erb Group's former Vice President of People and Culture, Dave Dietrich, as 2023's Trucking HR Leader of the Year. The award is presented annually to an individual who serves as an effective role model for other HR professionals in the trucking industry. As a Human Resources leader, Dave was employed with The Erb Group for 30 years and retired in June of 2023; however, his legacy continues to leave a lasting impact on the daily operations of our human resources department and projects while always maintaining a people-first focus. Unknowing that he would be receiving the HR Leader of the Year recognition, Dave stepped up to the podium to receive his award and, without thinking twice, shared his deep gratitude for his team's support, acknowledging that their efforts helped him make a significant impact over the course of his career. "A leader is nowhere without his team," said Dave Dietrich during his acceptance speech. In addition, he thanked our CEO, Wendell Erb, and his family for giving him the opportunity to foster and evolve their Human Resource department in its developmental stages. The Top Fleet Employers program is a national program that was established in 2014 by Trucking HR Canada, which recognizes the importance of having sound HR policies and practices in the trucking and logistics industry. The Erb Group is considered one of eight 'elite fleets' of the Top Fleet Employer's program, which is part of the first group of Canadian transportation companies that entered into the program when it first launched ten years ago. By working to achieve new altruistic goals and practices each year, The Erb Group has stood out for its astounding efforts in topics such as employee engagement, employee retention, workplace culture, compensation, training and skills development, and other HR modernizations. It is initiatives like the Top Fleet Employer program that keep transportation companies accountable and looking for cool new ways to outdo themselves in our industry each year. Without the program, it would be challenging to benchmark the type of efforts that keep an inspired, inclusive, and fueled workforce. When given the opportunity to grow, great things happen. We appreciate Trucking HR Canada for another year of recognizing the best fleets in the game and putting a spotlight on our HR Leader over the past 30 years.
