The Erb Group Celebrates 11 Years of Being a Top Fleet Employer

April 12, 2024, OTTAWA, ON — On April 10, 2024, Trucking HR Canada (THRC) unveiled the Top Fleet Employers list for 2024, which included 104 trucking companies in Canada. Among the list of distinguished winners, The Erb Group was recognized for an 11th consecutive year for its exceptional dedication to introducing innovative Human Resource practices for its employees and leading the industry forward.

Standing proudly among seven other elite fleets of the program, The Erb Group is part of the first group of Canadian transportation companies that joined the Top Fleet program when it first launched eleven years ago. With an unwavering commitment to cultivating a supportive and inclusive workplace, The Erb Group has become a trailblazer in areas such as compensation, employee engagement, and skills development. By prioritizing the happiness and professional growth of its employees, the company not only enhances its internal dynamics but also makes a significant impact on the industry and the broader communities it serves. The Erb Group announced the launch of their most recent HR project, the Employee Choice Awards (ECA), intending to foster deeper connections among employees and enrich the culture across its expansive terminal network. This program marks a significant milestone for the refrigerated trucking company, underscoring its people-first approach upon its 65th anniversary of cold chain excellence.

“Our HR journey has been shaped by the integrity of our team members. Their contributions inspire us to lead in our industry, create meaningful impacts in our communities, and prioritize the well-being and success of our greatest assets – our people,” added Alyssa Couvillon, Senior Director of HR at The Erb Group.

The Top Fleet Employers program is a national initiative that sets the standard for HR policies and practices within the industry. It is not a competition but a thorough review process where applicants are evaluated based on a comprehensive set of criteria. These include skills development, workplace culture, employee engagement, recruitment practices, compensation, sustainability, and innovative HR policies. The program also values employee feedback, ensuring that the perspectives of those who work within these fleets are considered.

Top Fleet Employers meet THRC’s HR standards of excellence and are leaders in showcasing this industry as a great place to work. Employers honoured with a spot in the program’s ranks for a minimum of five and ten years are awarded Top Fleet Employer of Distinction status. The 2024 Top Fleet Employers will be celebrated at the 11th annual Awards Gala, which will be held at the Palais Royale in Toronto on October 17, 2024. To view the full list of Top Fleet Employers, click here.
