NEW HAMBURG, Ont. — Jan. 20, 2026 — The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has named The Erb Group an Elite Fleet certified carrier for a second consecutive year, recognizing the company as a 2026 Best Place to Drive.
Now in its second year, the Elite Fleet program recognizes North American for-hire truckload carriers that demonstrate excellence in driver-focused workplace practices, including safety, compensation, benefits, quality of life and overall driver satisfaction.
Developed in partnership with the University of Denver’s Transportation & Supply Chain Institute, the program evaluates carriers through a comprehensive process that includes driver and independent contractor surveys to validate submissions and ensure transparency and credibility. Certified fleets are assessed across key performance areas, including safety performance, driver satisfaction and turnover, compensation and benefits, equipment quality, operational efficiency and overall workplace culture.
“Earning Elite Fleet certification for a second year reflects the strength of our driver-focused culture,” said Randy Steckly, vice-president of driver services at The Erb Group. “It reinforces our commitment to safety, respect and continuous improvement for our team and operations. We’re truly appreciative to be recognized by the TCA for upholding such a high standard within the industry.”
Alongside The Erb Group, 57 carriers across North America earned recognition as TCA Elite Fleet certified best places to drive.
TCA President Jim Ward said the program has quickly become an important industry benchmark.
“Following a successful first year, the TCA Elite Fleet program has quickly become a meaningful benchmark for excellence in our industry,” Ward said. “The carriers recognized in 2026 have demonstrated a strong commitment to investing in their drivers and fostering environments where professionals can thrive.”
The 2026 Elite Fleet certified carriers will be recognized during TCA’s annual convention, scheduled for Feb. 28 to March 3 in Orlando, Fla., with a dedicated awards program on March 2.
