The Erb Group Hosts Employee Appreciation BBQs and 65th Anniversary Celebration

New Hamburg, ON – August 16, 2024 —The Erb Group is thrilled to celebrate its 65th anniversary this summer with a series of Employee Appreciation BBQs, honouring its dedicated network of employees across its nine terminal locations throughout North America. While these BBQs are a cherished annual tradition, this year’s celebrations are especially significant as they commemorate the company’s long-standing commitment to dedication, community and collaboration.

The summer BBQ series featured a grand celebration at The Erb Group’s home terminal in Baden, Ontario, featuring a Show and Shine, appearances by MP Tim Louis, the Local Tractor Club, and a showcase by Isaac Instruments as The Erb Group prepares to introduce the technology in their fleet beginning in September. These events highlight not only the company’s achievements but also the integral role of industry partners, suppliers and community members in its success.

A special highlight of this year’s celebrations is the restoration of Truck 381, an iconic piece of The Erb Group’s fleet. This truck, originally a glider kit purchased by founder Vernon Erb and assembled at the company’s first shop (now the Head Office in New Hamburg), is deeply rooted in the company’s legacy. Initially intended for Vernon’s personal use, Truck 381 quickly became a key asset for drivers as the demand for refrigerated trucking grew.

Throughout the summer, Truck 381 has toured local terminals and truck shows, bringing a piece of The Erb Group’s heritage to the BBQs. This restored truck stands as a testament to the company’s history and a symbol of its continued enthusiasm for the future.

“Our Annual Employee Appreciation BBQs are a testament to the collaborative spirit that drives our mission,” said Alyssa Couvillon, Senior Director of Human Resources at The Erb Group. “

Our employee BBQs is a way to express our gratitude to our employees and the communities that have supported us. It’s a chance to come together, celebrate our achievements, and look forward to the future.”

The Erb Group’s commitment to community and teamwork is at the heart of its operations. Each BBQ event not only provides a platform to celebrate the company’s hard work in the cold chain transportation industry but also highlights the power of working together to move essential goods and support local communities.
