Summer Driving: A Few Reminders!
May the Fourth be with you, everyone! It’s officially May, which means the countdown to summer is officially on! The forecast for this month is full of sun and high temperatures, which is well deserved after a long and cold winter! As excited as we are for warm weather and sunny skies, we also want to give everyone a reminder to stay safe on the roads!
During the winter months, we’re constantly on the look-out for poor road conditions. Ice, snow, and rain can all make for some pretty dangerous driving! Then, suddenly, its summertime and the roads are dry! Although driving in good weather conditions is a lot less stressful, don’t let your guard down too much, and don’t let yourself get distracted by all this nice weather! The snow and ice has all melted, but focusing your undivided attention on the road and the cars around you is still priority number one.
Daily driving still requires your full attention. The temptation to blast the music and relax on your drive to work is strong, but it’s crucial to only indulge a little! At the end of the day, your focus should be on your driving!
Summer is also the time for more than just daily driving. Just like we do with our trucks, make sure you give your vehicle a thorough check-up before venturing on any long drives! Summer is the perfect time for weekend trips to the cottage, but make sure you’re getting there safely! A few important aspects to check could be…
- Fluids (coolant, oil, brake fluid, etc).
- Car battery
- Air filter
- Tire pressure
An emergency kit is another handy tool to keep in your car at all times, especially for those long summer drives. Having your car break down would be awful, but not having all the tools you need during an emergency would be even worse! If you remember anything from this article, let it be this!
