Erb Charity Golf Tournament 2017
It was a fun and very busy week here at Erb! This past Tuesday was the annual Erb Transport Golf Tournament at Rebel Creek Golf Club! The tournament was originally created to raise money for three local charities: Aldaview Services, Wilmot Family Resource Centre, and the Interfaith Counselling Centre. We are proud to announce that this year we raised just over $25,000, beating our personal best!
The tournament day included 18 holes of golf, hospitality and a mouthwatering dinner. We also had over 100 door prizes, including some great Erb gear! The rain held off and all participants had a great day. Thanks to Lois Broda, the event went off without a hitch. I was lucky enough to work with Lois throughout the day and see all the hard work she puts into making sure this day goes smoothly! Putting together this event involves a lot of time and effort, but every step is worth it in the end. Lois enjoys planning and organizing this event each year, as she has been doing so since 2008. Her favorite part of the day is getting to see how much we raise for charity, as that is the true goal of the event.
When the tournament day was first created, it attracted only a handful of people, but as it’s progressed over the years, the event has become more and more popular. This past Tuesday, 164 people attended, breaking another one of our records! Lois was not surprised when tickets for the event sold out the same day she sent out the email.
As a trucking company, we constantly have drivers spread out across Canada. We understand the importance of community and family values. Giving back to our local community is something we feel very strongly about doing, and the golf tournament has proven to be a great way to do this year after year.
On behalf of Erb, thank you to all of our golfers, customers and staff, as you all played a huge roll in the success of this event.
